Dungeon/Poly Sept/Oct Issue Preview

$8 (US) per issue? Six issues a year? I can afford that price. At least it's not a $20 price tag. :p

I do have one question, though: Will there be an increase in page count now or in the near future (when Poly includes a SW adventure and possible a related article)?

Erik Mona said they would try not to cut anything out and would attempt to just raise the page count when they started doing the advantures

Personally I would love to see Poly either seperated from Dungeon and made part of Dragon or see Poly made its own magazine.

As for the mini games... I want them to be some traditional games and then some strange off the wall stuff just to see what they can get D20 to do. Granted I would love to see a larger portion of Dungeon/Poly be devoted to Poly. Then maybe they could have larger mini (or would that be maxi?) game.

Yes, more on Omega World please... How much setting detail is there? (Ah, for the days of Pitz Burk!) Can you still design your own mutated animal?

Must check it out soon...

Pre-built adventures are for the unimaginative! More Poly, less Dungeon! :D

Now that I've kicked off WWIII, is it safe to assume that Omega World gives us another preview of the d20 Modern rules? Is that Explorer class actually a Prestige/Advance Class that gets tacked onto a character after they take some levels of Fast/Smart/Strong/Tough/Charismatic/Dedicated Hero?

And while I'll probably never play it, Thunderball Rally was awesome (and after seeing the poster art for "Stop that Monkey!" I WAS wondering about rules for simians). Out of curiosity, raise your hands if you disliked it. Now raise your hands if you were born post-Smokey and the Bandit. Whattaya think? Do I see some overlap?

Dungeon ONLY!

OK enough of this Holier than Thou "Pre-made adventures are for the unimaginative" crap.

One of the enjoyable aspects of D&D is the shared experience that one gets by actually talking about how things played out in different sessions of the same adventure. Assuming that your own adventures are somehow superior to I6 Ravenloft, Temple of EE, G1, 2, 3 ect, etc is the height of arrogance.

Additionally, the wealth of available adventures makes a busy DM's life much easier. The time saved makes it much more likely in fact that D&D will be played rather than say Mage or Changeling which requires a tremendous amount of prep time for the busy game master.

Back to the topic at hand...

I've every Dungeon printed & have been a loyal subscriber since issue 20-something. Please ditch the Poly stuff. I don't like it & don't want to pay for it. Sounds like a poll should be in the works...

anyone?
