Dungeon recommendations. . .

This may provide more context for what I have in mind. . . these will basically be the tombs of powerful heroes and BBEGs from aeons past, god-like beings (who, in the present day, are in fact worshipped as gods). The tombs are heavily trapped to guard the final resting places of these once living gods, as well as the sources of their powers (various artifacts). So, these traps and dungeons recommended should be designed specifically to keep people out.

White Plume Mountain is the lair of the Fire Elemental Mage Keraptis, set in a Volcano. It´s where you find the three legendary weapons, Whelm, Wave and Blackrazor. No SciFi tech anywhere iirc.

See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Plume_Mountain

WotC have updated it to 3E here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/oa/20051207a

Expedition to the Barrier Peaks is set in a crashed spaceship with lots of vegepygmies and mysterious high tech robots and blaster guns.

Yes, but it does have small things like a turnstile and other atmosphere breaking elements.

I second Tomb of Abysthor. The upper levels will be great for entrence levels.

Iron Crypt of the Heretics

The title alone screams cool :) I may be putting this game on hold, however, as I have a tentative group of players for a medieval PbP using Fantasy Wargaming (with magic).

A few other tomb suggestions, James:

  • Necromancer Games' Vault of Larin Karr (can easily be converted into a tomb)
  • lift stuff from Gygax's Necropolis to change-up your ToH/RttToH material
  • F'Cherlak's Tomb by Paul Jaquays and The Pharaoh’s Tomb by Jim Ward (both in the JG Dungeoneer 1-6 compilation)
  • The Lair of Maldred the Mighty (White Dwarf 24 or Best of White Dwarf Scenarios #2)

Iron Crypt rocks, btw! I playtested the 1e conversion for it and it was a blast :D
