I got my DMG off eBay (I don't think I have a FLGS in my area anymore).

When I ran all over town trying to find a special cover PHB, I did the same. And (as someone who relies on public transport/Uber) instead of wasting time and money doing it twice, I just went to Ebay for the special cover DMG as well. Both arrived within a few days. And I will do so here shortly for the special cover MM.

100% got all three books at the FLG as the price was just a few $ more. It's extra work, and I don't like the special covers, but I feel good about it so that's a perk.

My individual purchase choices aren't going to impact Bezos one bit. He'll, Anazon's income doesn't even come primarily from selling physical objects.

It’s less about trying to impact Bezos and more about trying to help keep the lights on in brick and mortar stores. Amazon will do fine with or without our patronage, but the same can’t be said of most LGSes.

Of course. But you were speaking of Amazon "breaking street date" - if you mean just for you and no one else than fine, whatever, dare to dream.

But it seems likely that they would be more likely to "break street date" on something of a larger scale, and I would prefer that they didn't do that, for reasons previously discussed.

Weird, usually Americans usually get the bigger sales then us. I mean I locked in early enough to get like 25% off, but even now it's $55 cad 22% off.

Hasbro has very particularly gone out of their way to do something behind the scenes (exactly what is unclear, but it is clear theybhave done something) so that Amazon cannot undermine MSRP in the USA for them.
