And Gleemax, sure.
Not so much at Paizo or Rpgnet.

People here seem to be unabashedly Pro4E. There's nothing wrong with that. Even though I dont plan on going over to 4E I still pop in here to find out what's new with 4E.

What on earth is there to be abashed by? As far as I've seen, this is the only site where I can discuss 4e without being drowned in threadcraps.

Oh, the irony of what you just responded to :p

In any case, I started when I was at the tender age of 11 with AD&D/"2e" and I likes the look of 4e

But, yeah people here seem to be just wetting themselves with glee and anticipation over 4E.

Hey! A rhyme!

Yes, but, look at the two sources you point to.

The Paizo community sees 4e as the source of ending the print magazine. Most of the posters at Paizo are going to be Dungeon and/or Dragon fans. That's going to color things right off the bat.

RPGnet? Have they ever said anything good about anything D&D? I mean, the communty tends to loath 3e, so, I can't really see them saying much good about 4e.

I put down 2nd edition as that is technically where I started. Really though, I was buying/inheriting/renting books piecemeal for a long time, so I was using a blend of 1st/2nd/Basic and stuff I just made up for a few years before I was playing the game by the rules. (Magic Missle and Mage Armor were soooo much more powerful before I tracked down a PHB)

Before getting any books, I started off playing by watching/participating in a few short games at school and then making up my own version using a blend of half remembered spell names, board games, and those RPG/lite Choose your own adventure books they used to make. My little brother and I used to always spend an hour or two writing up a new set of rules before starting a game. :)

My brother was artistically inclined, so he used to draw up these little 2D Dungeons (Boxed left to right kind of like a comic strip) for us to play through, including helpful details like staircases, enemies, treasure and spikey bits. He'd erase bits once in a while to represent changing conditions like blowing a hole in the wall to get to the next panel, or helpful stick illustrations of my hero drowning as the room filled up with water. Good times...

I am 37 years old. I started playing D&D in 1982 with the basic set and soon after switched to 1e.

I like the look of 4e.

Just tell them Rebecca Borgstrom is writing 4e. Then they will love it.
