D&D General Dungeons & Dragons art discussion

Rabulias

the Incomparably Shrewd and Clever
I really liked the art by Roger Raupp in the Dragon and Dungeon magazines in the 1980s and 90s.
Agreed. Why haven't we seen his work in years (or have I just missed it)? Hope he is doing OK.

Edit: Sadly, it looks like he passed away in 2019. :.-( (Roger Raupp )

Jim Holloway. In an era where everything as gonzo cheesecake, he kept it real
He had some great Dragon covers. This one is my favorite:

Love that Holloway cover. I love Holloway's interior art in a number of modules as his b&w art is great and very clear, especially when given a small amount of space on the page. I think Holloway also did art for MERP and Paranoia! and it was good there as well.

For me, it's Clyde Caldwell. I've always been a huge Ravenloft fan, and he created a lot of the iconic imagery for the setting.

He’s my second favorite. Yes, he’s (in)famous for his cheesecake, but what I like about his art are his gems (weird, I know), and his versions of the dragons. The best renditions IMO
