DungeonWorks

That stuff looks good. I even checked out the Castleworks stuff.

So you just download the program onto your computer and print the items off on cardstock?

I wonder if the price of ink is worth it.

That's only downside I can see unless somebody can please enlighten me.

They look nice, but I just plunked down the money for the Microtactix version of the same thing not to long ago... These look better, but still...

I might get the Castle, though... And I'll wait and see what the others ones you have comming are.

I may well be the only person uneffected by the flash/sound combo. (my computer doesn't have a sound card and flash isn't installed. Your idea is cool, and it is a whole lot cheaper then the Dwarven forge stuff.

You've probably lost my sale, too.

Those are just about the coolest models I've ever seen for gaming. I agree with FL about the music, though (it's way too long and too loud). When you insulted him, you insulted by proxy everyone who agrees with him.

Maybe I'll pick up your product in a couple of months, when I don't feel as insulted. Of course, that assumes I remeber the URL.

since you plan to make some cash from your hard work you would do well to head this critisism. a mute button isn't that big of a deal but I hardly think insulting potential buyers is good for a new business.

that said, I am interested to see what else you come up with. cost wise I have to agree with whoever mentioned the cost of printer cartridges or ink. those are heavy solids and while I'm sure we all use differn't printers the cartridges in mine wouldn't last long printing this stuff off and at $50-$60 bucks apeice the actual cost adds up quickly. the ability to print as needed is pretty cool though:cool:

good luck with your venture:)

By all means move this thread if it’s in the wrong spot. Like I said, I don’t want to step on any toes.

Yes the ink issue is something that should be talked about. I’m using an Epson Stylus 777 and the ink cost is a NIGHTMARE to say the least. Thankfully there are alternative ink suppliers like www.korectype.com who offer a less expensive alternative. The DungeonWorks set used about one quarter of my ink but keep in mind that I had printed multiples of everything. So if you balance that against the cost of the actual product and the amount of ink used it still kills other alternatives. The biggest benefit as noted by Sanackranib is the ability to print multiple pieces as your needs for a more complex dungeon grows.

Don’t get me wrong, I would buy multiple sets of the Dwarven Forge stuff if I could afford it but as it stands I'm just trying to achieve the same visual quality and modular functionality without the price tag. As far as detail shots go there are high resolution pictures thumbnailed at the main page www.worldworksgames.com/dungeon.html .For those who still don't believe their eyes here’s a shot I took just for this forum. No pretty lighting just the raw product:

LandscapeWorks is still in early development but it will include a mass of varied modular terrain as well as a host of organic and man made objects. The set will match or surpass the amount of models included in DungeonWorks (Over 40) and will retail for $15.00. The set will be scalable and should work with any figure size. I think overall flexibility is the key with these products; they should be INEXPENSIVE, easy to build, look great, and highly modular. Hope that answers some questions and thankyou for the interest!

Not to be bitchy too, but shouldn't this be in the Publisher forum instead of General?

Probably originally, but not at this point. If it was, I'd've (is that a word?) moved it!

Denny, thanks for providing the sample. Coooool.

the biggest problem with this type of stuff

the biggest problem with this type of stuff (esp dwarven forge) is a serious lack of help putting it away. I have a couple hundred dollars of dwarven forge stuff that I reaely if ever use anymore for that very reason.
