Duskblade: 1st two feats

First Post
Hi all,

My first character got killed off, and so I'm starting a 3rd level dwarven duskblade, and I'm looking for a few good feats. (raw stats GM approved: 18, 18, 16, 16, 15, 14. Dwarf stats:
18 str, 16 dex, 18 con, 18 int, 15 wis, 12 cha)

Background notes: powergamer Eberron campaign, starting in the mournlands (cure spells don't work, so I won't be taking arcane disciple like I originally thought). Party includes a catfolk scout, a changeling thief, and some kind of cleric/wizard hybrid. It does not include a main fighter type, so I guess that's me.

Two combinations I like so far:
-Armor: Dodge and Combat Expertise
-resiliance: Endurance and Die-hard

I want to steer clear of specializing with weapons and armor just yet, as my class progression allows new types of shields as time goes on. I also want to be able to use whatever magical items come our way, so I don't wanna get too specialized.

Thanks!
-Koosh

Power Attack and Cleave. Cleave goes nicely with your arcane channeling, since you're more likely to drop an opponent if you hit him with PA damage and a shocking grasp at the same time.

Also, Power Attack combos nicely with True Strike, and later, Sure Strike.

Power Attack is a must, given the Gish archetype.

Consider Ability Focus (Arcane Channeling) to bump up the DCs of your touch attacks through your weapon.

Is that valid? Since the save DC is based on the spell (rather than having its own as a special ability) wouldn't you have to increase your DC on the spell instead?

Anyway, I third Power Attack. Combined with True Strike and a 2-handed weapon you can do some fairly obscene damage. And with Swift Expeditious Retreat you can bring that damage from farther away than people might think. A dwarf charging 100ft and hitting in one round has to look pretty cool. :)

It's shaky, I'll admit. :D

I know you said you wanted to avoid things specifically armor related, but what about the Battle Caster feat that lets you wear heavier armor (allowing, I think, you to eventually use heavy armor with your duskblade abilities).

Otherwise, it seems that you're going to be a little light on AC to be the party "tank".

I like the Battlecaster Offense tactical feat from Complete Mage. You get the Combat Casting prereq for free, and the two maneuvers are both as natural to the Duskblade as breathing. Damage a foe with a spell and get +1 to hit them with a melee attack next round, or make a melee attack against a foe and add +1 DC to a spell cast at them next round. How can you say no to that?
