Duskblade and sense motive?

Has anyone figured out why the PHB II recommends sense motive for the duskblade. I can't say that I've kept up with all of the books, so perhaps there is a use for sense motive that I'm not aware of that's out there somewhere. Any pointers would be much appreciated!

It's a good skill. It's major combat use is to prevent feinting in combat which stops sneak attacks.

Thanks

Thanks for the thoughts. I guess giving the fighting abilities it makes sense, if you have enough points after Concentration, Know (Arcana), and Spellcraft.

Because Rogues get it...

It is a valuable interpersonal skill, and Rogues excel in all interpersonal skills...the inclusion in the Duskblade is almost certainly based on this.

....yeah...I was thinking about this today, and I realized that when I wrote this...I was confusing the Duskblade...with the Beguiler....what a bonehead...sorry...

...I really don't see any rhyme or reason to the inclusion of sense motive in this class based on its supposed role and inspirations...
