Duskblade in Heavy Armor--reduction in ASF?

Phaedrus

First Post
If a 10th level Duskblade can wear medium armor and heavy shield with no spell failure chance, does it make sense to give them a % reduction of the spell failure chance if they wear heavy armor?

Medium armor ASF is 20-30
Heavy armor ASF is 35-40

Should a Duskblade in heavy armor get a 20, 25, or 30% deduction on ASF?

It seems to make sense... (then they can put the Twilight enhancement on their full plate and have no ASF!)... besides, the picture in the PHB2 has them in heavy armor, and we all know the pictures drive the rules!

Or take the Battlecaster feat and have no ASF....
That'd be my response too. Just take the feat (from Complete Arcane) and cast in heavy armor without ASF. Of course, you also need proficiency with the armor.

Since Mithral Full Plate only has an armor bonus 3 better than Mithril Breastplate, I'd rather save that feat and the cash and just get a Mithril Breastplate. The difference in Max Dex bonus makes up for it, and the remaining cash can go to the "Gloves of Dexterity +6" fund.

Yea, I forgot about that Duskblades don't have proficiency in heavy armor.

Mithral Full Plate! :D

Is that errata?

p. 19, "Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Duskblades are proficient with with all martial weapons, as well as all armors and shields (except tower shields)."

Nevermind then!

Just get Mithral Full Plate and you don't even need Battlecaster since its treated as Medium Armor.
