Duskblade: popular one-level dip for warriors?

The duskblade class from PHB II seems cool, but I think they get too much at first level. I think many fighter types with an INT of 11 or more might pick-up a single level for this reason. Specifically, one level of duskblade gives the following benefits:

* +2 to Fort and Will saves
* +1 BAB
* 2 + INT bonus 0-level spells known and 2 1st-level spells known
* The ability to cast 3 0th-level and 2 + INT bonus 1st-level spells a day without preparation
* The ability to use certain useful 0-level spells as innate abilities 3 + INT times/day (detect magic, ghost sound, etc.)
* The ability to cast in light armor with no chance of failure

I would say more than warriors. I had a rogue that took a level of sorcerer mostly for RP reasons, but the ability to cast shield, expeditious retreat, detect magic and detect poison were really nice, too. Getting the duskblade special abilities and 1st level spells, a +1 BAB and +2 boost their weak saves would be great for a rogue who wanted a couple extra tricks up his sleeve.

Better yet, one of the 1st-level spells known could be true strike, which has no somatic components and can be cast in any armor with no chance of spell failure. :]

True, but in most situations you might as well attack anyway, unless you are like 2nd level with power attack and 2 handed weapon. Or some such.

At which point you could power attack for all of -2 to hit / +4 damage?

*shrug* Meh.

I am considering doing this for my Scout PC (INT 14) for exactly this reason. And you called me out! I am ashamed. ::hangs head:: :lol:

Oh, don't get me wrong; the reason this occured to me is because I was thinking of doing the same thing for my 14 INT barbarian! ;)
