Uhh... no, I don't? I mean, there ARE some pluses and minuses in choosing one class and not the other. Otherwise, just make a d12 full BAB full arcane and divine spellcasting class with 3 good saves and 8 skill points per level, and throw in psionics and martial maneuvers and Incarnum while you're at it. Now THAT would be a class with an adaptive flavor, wouldn't it?

And you don't see this as a bad thing?

Whether I see it as a bad thing doesn't matter. The rules are the way they are, and if you grant one player a bonus for willingly hindering himself, everybody else is going to want a bonus as well. Sometimes you have to accept the fact that it's a game, and if everyone is enjoying themselves with the choices they made, then the game is good. If someone made a bad choice, allow them to change that choice- don't try to act like they didn't make a bad choice by trying to compensate for it.

I really want to like Duskblades, but they appear to actually get weaker as they advance. Their spell list, quite frankly, SUCKS from level 3 onwards.

Are they really any good?

Why don't they get magic missile? They should also have mage armor, but I can guess they didi not get it due to balance reasons. :] Oh and why don't they get lightning bolt when they get chain lightning at level 5? (makes no sense dusky would learn a more difficult version of the spell but no the easy one)

What about PRc's? Any good one's for Duskblades? What about rumathari battlemage? (weak HD, average BAB, but a great boost in spellcasting and metamagic)

Lastly, what do you say to multiclassing a duskblade with the warblade from bo9s?

Duskblades are not really great at replacing a normal mage class in multiclassing. Rather than think of them as third-rate wizards, try comparing them to melee classes (fighter, ranger) and you'll get a more accurate comparison.
