How is the cartoon for that age range? Is it sufficiently not-scary for a kid that age? The combat scenes, as I recall, are mostly zooming in and out on still images.
I attempted to introduce my three girls to the movie when they were about four. Not interested at all. They like Clifford, Angelina Ballerina, Beatrix Potter, art/painting, and ballet lessons.

Go figure. Girls. ;)

I included the Other option because I figured there'd be some people who'd have to say the Himalayas or Andes (though dwarven cities inspired by Machu Pichu seems kind of cool).

I wasn't expecting all the Scandinavia replies though. The funny thing? The lost dwarven homeland I was creating for my world was absolutely loaded down with fjords. However, I was taking inspiration from both Norway and Alaska when I was doing it.

I do live about 45 minute from the Great Smokies Mountain, however, and they make me think elves: huge trees, deep incredibly lush valleys (ravenfork is amazing), and lots of clear mountain streams.

How is this not chock full of dwarf-y goodness?
Definitely not elf-ish. (Maybe eladrin, but definitely not elven.)

Well, I imagine Ore Mountains or Erzgebirge, because that is where I am at the moment and if local lore is to be believed, the mountains are full of dwarves.

They look like molehills compared to Alps...
