Let various breeds of badgers take the place of cats. Yep I can just see the Tiny domesticated house badgers they keep where humans or elves would keep cats.

It is a great irony, then, that in Finnish, the word for dachshund, "mäyräkoira", also means a twelve-pack of beer.

I'm sure that has led to some pretty funny situations in shops everywhere (except Finland) with Finnish Tourists standing in a shop, dictionary in hand, ordering some dogs to slake their thirst.

Dog is great for stamina, so I can see why dwarves would like it.

Now, that's just wrong. Here I am, making some bad jokes about dwarves and their eating habits, and along comes some guy who makes statements like that. You can hear the whole room going silent at that.

Yes, tragic story. He was singing about his favoured pet, partaking in some mind-altering substances, when he was fatally scared by yuan-ti.


By the way, I do think that badgers make better pets for dwarves. Or some other underground-dwelling animal. I think they may have what humans will call "dwarven dog", but which isn't, in fact, a dog, but only their favourite pet, pretty loyal beasts and all that.

Unlikely. Such troubles might be associated with ice cream, or mustard, or a variety of vegetables, but no Finn has ever had any trouble acquiring a beer. It's like a racial ability, or something.
