If you do decide to proceed with your purchase, inspect the dice very carefully before leaving the store -- unless your ordering them online. In that case, cross your fingers and pray for a good set. Once you've got them, make certain that you always roll them on a forgiving surface like a mouse pad to prolong their life. And by all means, enjoy them!! As I said above, they look amazing, but I wanted you to be fully aware of the possible downside to buying them .

As an online retailer I'd like to point out Crystal Caste is very good about replacing funky Dwarven Stone dice if one happens to be messed up in some way or form.
Also, because of their size it makes it much easier to roll them when you are trying to play in an area without a lot of table room. Most of my players roll on their clip boards with no problems. The only drawback to that is it's very hard to actually see what they roll. You have to really trust your players.

I think that I would have gotten them anyway, but it was good to read the positives. I like the idea of rolling on a mouse pad and maybe I'll be able to concoct some type of die rolling tray out of one =)

I own a set of Lapi-lazuli ones. ok they were very expensive and are tiny. The D6,d10 and d20 are perfectly shapped, the d4 and d8 are slightly off though.
Rolled them a bunch of time to check if they were trully regular and I second what's already been said:
They are "lucky" (the d20 roll 20, 7.5% of the time same thing for the 18 and 1).

I got my sister a set of the hematite dice for her birthday last year. While they are a bit small, the letters are well printed and are easy to read. They have a nice solid feel and are quite beautiful. It was the perfect gift for her, as 1) she games and 2) she collects semi-precious stones.
