E-Publishing and "Picard's Syndrome"

Wow, that was a fun ride :D
Thanks, Lizard, for pointing that out.

This site quotes Gary North: "Of course I want to see y2k bring down the system, all over the world. I have hoped for this all of my adult life." (Sadly, there's no proof or source given for this quote. Nevertheless, it's fun.)

It's real -- it's from a longer message which has been quoted many times, and which North, near as I can tell by a google seach on the quote text, has never denied. A good look at this many other wrong predictions is at http://people.smu.edu/acambre/garynorth/ .

Of course, the author of this piece ALSO made a wrong prediction -- that the failure of Y2K to end the world would end Gary North. He is still quite capable of exploiting the gullible and seems to evince not the tiniest bit of shame for his role in panicking hundreds or thousands of people into giving up their homes and jobs in order to prepare for the apocalypse which never came.

My point in posting this is, simply, to alert anyone who might be considering his advice on eBooks and making business decisions on it. A stopped clock may be right twice a day, but the clock which is Gary North is missing a few digits.
