E-Tools for Win98

1) You shouldn't have to build a DSN to get it to work, and in any case E-Tools wouldn't know which DSN to use...

2) My only suggestion at this point would be a reinstall. Hehe. Never know what a clean copy of Windows will do. But of course, it is the ultimate last resort. =)

Since this looks like the place for tech support... ;)

Has anyone had an IE message of "Server Not Found" when trying to print out a character sheet or a print preview? I'm using IE 5.5 with service pack 2 on a windows ME machine.

I have slowly been getting to a point where I am happy with e-tools (got the screens all one color, I can access the database and have added a class), and this (and the +1 caster level problem) are annoying me. :(

1)Yes. When I tried that, I had no idea what the problem was, and was trying anything out of desperation. Now I know what the problem is, but can't fix it.

2)That's at the bottom of my list :D I may actually upgrade the machine to XP, actually-I'd been pondering the monetary and time cost of doing that anyway ...

Run the compatability checker software from the XP section of Microsofts website first. XP is excellent, but the checker will let you know ahead of time if there is any hardware or software on your machine that will have a problem with the upgrade. It should give you a good idea if its worth the money to do the upgrade on your particular system.

Hey-in case anyone was still worried about me :D ... or in case anyone else is having similar problems:

This seems to be fixed. (It's working at the moment, anyway.) Good 'ol Davin suggested turning off the graphics accelerator. After pondering his advice, and whacking myself in the head a few times, I cranked it down to minimum and rebooted. Ta-da! No more crashed. So far.

Do you have the latest updates to eTools? Both program and dataset wise? You can find both here.
