Just wondering about a few things for E-Tools, and since the CMP boards are so slow i'll post here.

How is the Psionics handbook stuff gonna be handled in the data set? Will it use power points or just spell levels?

Are you working on ways to add templates? is it possible to design a class that adds 0 to ECL and use that as a template?

Will the savage species data sets add ecl to monster characters or hit dice?

Does e-tools calculate multi-class penalties and use favoured classes?

I'll attempt a few unofficial answers here...

How is the Psionics handbook stuff gonna be handled in the data set? Will it use power points or just spell levels?

They haven't told us anything on that subject yet - we're just going to have to wait and find out.

Are you working on ways to add templates?

"Dynamic" templates will require some substantial code changes to accomplish, so I wouldn't expect them too soon.

is it possible to design a class that adds 0 to ECL and use that as a template?

People have tried that kind of thing before, without much happiness. Besides, eTools doesn't yet deal directly with ECL in the first place (since it wasn't properly defined in the original core books).

They haven't told us anything about that yet, but again, ECL is not directly defined/used in eTools.

No, because it doesn't do any XP calculations at all. You have to do all those yourself and type in the final number.

It's getting better.. the vast rush is mostly over and we've been able to get a mirror site at Canonfire! and tomorrow at d20zines (Kudos and thanks to Chatdemon and Ghostwind!)...

Inside the program it will be dealt with as spell levels - the output sheet will display power points... at least that's the plan, we're still playing with it to 'fake' the proper calculations though

ECL isn't supported currently, Davin is correct... But keep an eye on things, some surprises coming up in the next patch.

Again, Davin has the right of it... e-Tools was just not designed to handle this... we're working on it, but it might be quite a while before we can get it working correctly.

Mynex, could you put the URLs for the mirror sites up here? I noticed that it is up at CMP's site? Unfortunately, CMP's site remains glacial, and fails to load as often as not.

I have a character file that still manages to crash etools even with version 1.2.1. I don't know what about the file is causing problems. Any suggestions (beyond the obvious)?
