E1: Tomb of Chaos [Judge: Patlin] [Concluded]

(ooc: those without sight are getting listen checks. Nezrak will know that he is standing beside a big baboon and surrounded by bats with none of his friends directly beside him. I'll make a check to see if he is able to aim it correctly or catch 1 person in the blast when he goes next.)

Gorefoot follows Percy back down the corridor as she retreats. When they stop for a moment, he asks, "Will you be alright here? I should go get the others."

Assuming Percy answers in the affirmative, Gorefoot will head back down the hall, sweeping one arm back and forth hoping to get ahold of one of his companions. If he does, he'll pull them behind him and tell them to find Percy.

[Round 5 Cont]

Rodimus turns to lay into the baboon behind Ishmael. Smacking it hard with both his fists, though the impact seems to have been lessened (damage reduction).

Gorefoot follows Percy back as does Novrne. The cursed rogue says, "It really isn't my place to fight these battles, are you sure it wouldn't be better for me to just leave this all to you?"
At Percy's nod, Gorefoot returns to the front and finds Nars.

Bat Swarm starts to wake up (ad hoc ruling, bats will wake and move on the baboon's next turn).

Nars safe from the waking bats and the baboon drinks his potion feeling much refreshed. The bleeding wounds slowly close as well.

Ishmael, unable to retreat through the baboon, strikes at it to try and clear the way for himself and the others. His warhammer hits the baboon, but inflicts only a small amount of damage.

Nezrak successfully determines the optimal direction to point his burning hands and manages to affect both the baboon and the bats. The flames produce a limited amount of light for everyone briefly though the damage to each of the creatures is minimal. With Nezrak's knowledge he swear's under his breath "Damn fiend-touched. Fire doesn't work very well against such creatures."

[Round 6]

The spiritual axe would've hit hard had it not been for the concealing darkness. The baboon is likewise ineffective. The bats however wake fully and move to cover Nezrak, Ishmael, and Rodimus again. All three feel the sting of dozens of tiny cuts (as does the baboon). The two cheetahs both concentrate their attacks on Ishmael, but are also unsuccessful in bypassing the halfling's armor. More chanting from the far corner ensues [sblock=Spellcraft DC 22]Summon Monster 2 is being cast[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]What light was carried? Was Percy's light spell the only source of light in effect? It was negated by darkness but other sources of natural light are still effective outside the radius of the darkness.

His skin crawling with disgust and pain, Ishmael surpresses the urge to scream in frustrated rage. His breath escapes instead via a few choice curses in Draconic.

He focuses on the baboon, calling down holy wrath upon the fell creature.

Rolls:
[sblock]
Fort Save: 1d20+6=17
Smite Evil (+2 to hit/+2 to damage) + Power Attack 2-> 1d20+6=21

Use Dodge on Baboon.

OOC: I believe we found some torches in the entrance to the tomb. If it's alright, I'll assume Nars has one and he will light it. If not, he will borrow one from someone else. Also, Rodimus has Ki strike (magic) so he may have pierced the damage reduction. Or it may have some other damage reduction.

IC: Realizing he is out of the darkness, Nars pulls a torch from his pack and lights it.

Percy has been carrying a lit torch in her left hand, and a crossbow in her right. Currently she doesn't know what the heck to do. Is her mage armor still current? If not, she'll cast that upon herself.

Seeing, and hearing, that the others are withdrawing, Rodimus does likewise.

OoC: I was about to note the presence of Ki Strike too, but I see SlagMortar beat me to it.

(Manz, I apologize I thought she only had her light spell. Upon backing out of the darkness the flickering torch once again provides light for Percy, Gorefoot, and Novrne. With light again she can see into the inky blackness ahead and spot Nezrak surrounded by Bats. She can just make out the Baboon beside him. Her mage armor is still on.)
