E1: Tomb of Chaos [Judge: Patlin] [Concluded]

OOC: I think Ishmael moved into flanking position with Nars. I was waiting to see what everyone else would do, but I will go ahead. If there is an open space where Nars can throw his alchemist's fire without splashing his comrades, then he first strikes out with Felhunter and then steps back and throws his flask at the swarm. Otherwise, he will attack with Felhunter and then step back. Felhunter (1d20+9=27, 1d6+3=4) (includes flanking and doesn't include TWF penalty)

IC: Nars grits his teeth as he continues fighting the creature. He lashes out with his sword and steps back away from the creature looking for a spot to throw the flask in his left hand.

[Round 1]

Ishmael steps out and around the swarm batting scorpions off of his armor. He moves around the far side of the wight, but is unable to bring Violet into play yet. he does manage to place himself opposite Nars in a flanking position with the canny dwarf.

Nezrak fires his bow, but in trying to miss his friends unfortunately misses the wight too.

Percy decides to hold her action not wanting to spend any more spells unless things turn dire.

Gorefoot makes it out of the swarm as well, but has to travel all the way around the scorpions to get at the wight. He manages to position himself opposite Rodimus though neither is flanking the wight.

[Round 2]

Nars sees the wight quite surrounded and all his friends out of the swarm for the moment. Taking advantage of the situation, the dwarf backs up and lobs the volatile flask into the scorpions. A burst of fire kills most of them and the rest seem to fade back into the ground, disappearing into fine mist.

Rodimus lines up a series of deadly strikes battering the wight quite seriously. Still the undead monstrosity stands.

The wight seeing itself surrounded backs into a corner beside Gorefoot and tries to strike the halfling. Unfortunately (well for me at least) the thing just can't seem to hit anyone today.

Ishmael and Gorefoot make short work of the undead creature, cornered as it is. The wight falls in a heap of dead flesh, remaining where it falls as opposed to dissipating. Nezrak and Percy stand back ready.

Novrne looks seriously impressed at the short work that the crew has made of the creature.

[sblock=OOC]There we are, that was quick. Great saves and equally effective attacks. That alchemist's fire managed max damage (which is already doubled vs. swarms).

Damage Recap:
Nars 3 dmg
Rodimus 5 dmg
Ishmael 6 dmg
Gorefoot 4 dmg[/sblock]

With the door now open, Nars moves to the doorway to peak into the next room fully expecting something impressive.

We aim to please. :)

OOC: I was out for the past 10 days or so. Back now.

Percy claps her hands with excitement after the initial fright. "Oh well done. You guys are awesome! This place sure is dangerous. Gosh. We should stop for the night after exploring this room. I'm almost useless without my spells." Percy fingers her ring. She was ready to try it on the scorpions before Nars dispatched them.

Opening the door, Nars is greated by a room bathed in light. The walls of this room are lined with bookshelves, each full of thick books shrouded in dust. Light from two torches (one on the north and south walls respectively) illuminate a lone, apparently human figure standing in the room. The figure wears flowing yellow and black robes, similar to those featured as side characters in some of the murals elsewhere in the dungeon. The figure turns to you and is quite human. He smiles and says, "Ah visitors, do come in. I'm the librarian here and I'd be happy to share some of these wonderful books with you."

Of all the things Nars suspected might be in the room, a welcoming librarian was not among them. He is taken aback, "Oh, ah, " *cough* and finally stammers out a greeting, "Er, hello." He is still wary of a trap, but not sure what to do next. He moves just into the room far enough to be out of the way to allow the rest of the party into the room.

Percy rolls her eyes, with an "I'm so sure..." expression.

"Novrne," she says to their strange companion. "Do you recognize this man up here?" Percy will guide Novrne to the front, smiling at the librarian.

Gorefoot, unsure whether he can trust anything in this place, seems to be wavering between greeting the librarian and running him through.

"Oh I know it looks a little strange my being here and all. I assure you I am almost as new to this place as you. I disguised myself as a gnoll just what last week I guess it was. Right, name, my name is Lorien Stemraen. As a gnoll I got into that room out there. Then I with a little talking to the gnolls and having a look around, found what I needed to dress as to look like one of them priests in all the murals. The gnolls, they warned me about that wight. Nasty character that. By reading some of the books out in that room, I found that only priests were allowed in here. Quick change and I came back in disguised as a priest. The wight didn't even bother with me." replies the librarian.

Ishmael's divine inquisition finds no malice in the Librarian.

Novrne says under his breath, "He does dress like a priest, but I don't know him."

As Nars moves into the room just inside the door he feels a strange sensation in his head. Its as if someone is trying to influence his decisions magically, to encourage him to revere Toth Nekamek of all people. Looking down he sees faint traces of a magical trap on the stones beneath his feet. He manages to throw off the compulsion though.
