My ruling would be that no you do not have to change your alignment. Nothing in the PrC says you do. There are no prereqs requiring a certain alignment.

OOC: Right. & you don't actually become the dragon. You just take the half-dragon template. Just because blue dragons are always evil doesn't mean half-blue dragons are always evil.

And by the way, I think Strum, guilt puppy's dwarven barbarian, has 55 Hps

actually i looked that part up and half-dragons are the alignment of their progenitor dragons. I'd say that dragon disciples are further removed on the blood line and just because you are embracing the power in your blood does not mean you have to succumb to the negative influences. what color is Ishmael going for again? Blue?

While it's not an issue until DD level 10, I'd also rule that you aren't required to change alignment.

OOG: Yes, sir. Blue, the color of his eyes.

Re: Erekose13's and Patlin's ruling
But hooray! I really don't want Ishmael to become Lawful Evil. I am, however, going to RP the dark side of Draconic bloodline as far as the Paladin class is willing to allow. That is to say, murderous fury and avarice in his thoughts but no further than that.

[sblock=Percy, Ishmael, Rodimus, Novrne]Novrne shakes his head, "I have not heard of this Orussus. It did not exist in my day. Though it is bliss to be out beneath the sun again after so long. I would indeed like to meet this Sage of yours. Knowledge of my time seems to have evaporated with our gods and it would be an honour to educate."

As they continue to travel towards the city, the terrain becomes flat again evening out into pastures. More people appear on the roads the closer you get to Orussus. It is late in the afternoon on the fourth day when you arrive in the city you set out from.[/sblock]

[sblock=Nars, Gorefoot, Nezrak]Gorefoot takes his time and is able to find ample footholds in the sculptured statues flanking the door. Climbing up to the mantle piece above the great doors, Gorefoot has a better view of the detailed carvings that form an intricate scene of a kingdom of worshippers. Many of the faces have been worn down, but in quite a few glints of deep blue shine from actual pieces of lapis lazuli. It'll take quite some time to get to it all if that is what he wants. But with a week of waiting ahead it might kill some time.[/sblock]

Percy[sblock]Percy consults with Ishmael. "I say we take Novrne directly to the sages guild. I don't want him in an inn with us." Percy shivers. "Then we can rest for the night. Hoepfully we'll be able to catch Tharivian Atterwood before he the guild closes for the night. We'll do our shopping in the morning and then set back out."[/sblock]

OOC: Ishmael, did you ever get a satisfactory answer as to whether or not you'd have to take on the alignment of your chosen dragon? I'd like to know, because I'm at a point with Gideon that would probably be good to start working on changing his alignment if I have to (I'd prefer not to).
(I'm pretty sure we had a discussion in the rules forum a couple of months ago regarding that, and I'm pretty sure the consensus was - No, there is no alignment change. Unless it was lost in the crash, I'll see if I can find it.
Here.)
