E1: Tomb of Chaos [Judge: Patlin] [Concluded]

"Yes yes I'm still here. These books are fascinating. A sardine, no thank you. But absolutely any thing you want from the library feel free." he replies.

Its hard to work though the hieroglyphics, but eventually with the help of the Librarian, Nezrak is able to struggle through.

The names on the rods appear to be the kings or queens who owed fealty to King Toth Nekamek. Each one has a history and description in one of the historical texts on the shelf. Each is also named in the Book of the Dead, in a sort of obituatry for important people. In the histories there is some explanation of why each name fits to each animal. The missing ibis should be called Tekhen a minor noble in King Toth's court. The name corresponds to the name on the white rod.

From your research there is no explanation of crystal rods or small figurines or the locked door. You do come across an interesting passage regarding horses though. It would appear that the 'Long Headed Lord' as the horse god in this ancient empire was known, likes offerings of burnt food, particularly grass, though any food will do.

Rodimus goes to keep guard while the others pour over the tomes.

OoC: Let's offer Gorefoot up as food! No, wait, I don't think that'd work...

OOC: I suppose he could spare a finger ... ;)

Percy yawns. She's always hated studying, and honestly, has never been very good at it. She's glad Nezrak is there. She reads some, but mostly devotes herself to charming the librarian into helping them.

"Well. So this horsey god might open his statue mouth if we burned some food in those little dishes. He likes grass. Funny, my horse Gwenny likes apples and carrots best. Grass shouldn't be too hard, though. Let's go outside and pick some grass, then burn it for the horse."

She turns to the libarian. "Would you like to come with us? You've got to be ready for some fresh air. And it would be interesting, wouldn't it, to see that room and see if our little experiment works. I don't think it will be dangerous."

Gorefoot shrugs and says, "Sounds good to me."

Grass is easily found outside. Nars brings it in, sets it up on a little plate and starts burning it in front of the horse statue. The horse's mouth opens and inside is a little figurine of an ibis.

Percy claps her hands with glee. "Well done everyone!" She then stands by to see if anyone can get up there. She suggests Rodimus picks up Nars, with Ishmael and Gorefoot stablizing him. Assuming they can get the figurine, Percy urges them back to the Jackel room to put it all together. We can assemble it as follows:

Ram figurine - Sera - purple rod
hippo figurine - Nehes - red rod
scarab figurine -Mekharr - blue rod
cat figurine - Ama - yellow rod
Ibis figurine -
crocodile figurine -
asp figurine - orange rod

whoops - haven't quite figured it out!?

(ooc: posted up on the first post in this thread that the white rod goes with the Ibis, leaving the green rod for the crocodile)

With a boost and a bit of climbing the figurine is retrieved. As you climb back down the horse's mouth closes again. Returning to the jackal room you are able to see all the rods assembled. On the door there are now representative statues with their hands held out waiting.
