Earth Elemental Familiar- Earthglide yes or no?

3.5 DMG p200 is the original source of the Improved Familiar feat (reprinted in CompArc), and it lists the Sm. Earth Elemental familiar on p202.

Thanks! After reviewing this and considering the other costs/benefits, I'd argue in favor of the familiar possessing earth glide. I know it has the potential for abuse, but as with any situation where power becomes abusive, once the abuse begins your enemies will eventually get wind of it and prepare. Like in our Shackled City game, my warlock was using vitriolic blast a lot to deal with opponents with spell resistance. The bad guys caught on to this and now I generally have to worry about SR and acid resistance of some kind. I'm guessing if you'd abuse the power of earth glide then your enemies would start lining their underground rooms with metal, and the casters would carry move earth around with them. It all balances out in the end. :)

The errated DMG I have doesn't have Earthglide in it either. So I'm going to say it was left out on purpose. If you want to keep him alive, just memorize "Familar Pocket" =v).

For what it's worth, the "errated DMG" still has mistakes.

For example, the earth elemental in question supposedly has all of the familiar adjustments made to its stat block. However, it has BAB +1 - since it's a familiar to a 5th-level sorcerer or wizard, and uses its master's BAB, that should be BAB +2.

So it's conceivable that leaving out the earthglide power was also a mistake (which I think it was).

Quick question: I'm thinking about taking Improved Familiar for my Sorc/Cleric of Obad-Hai (Plant & Earth)/Geomancer(/Mystic Theurge coming soon) when he hits 12th level, in order to get a Small Earth Elemental. Not only is it thematically appropriate, the Earthglide ability will make it easier to keep alive and for it to deliver touch spells.

But the entry I saw on the familiar version of the creature (in the physical book) lacked Earthglide.

Do you think this omission is intentional or accidental?

I'm thinking its an accident- I can't find another Familiar with something like that cut out of its abilities, and it doesn't seem to be lacking in the SRD entry.

Opinions?
I play a dwarf rogue/wizard 13th with an earth element as my familiar i also spent all my money from my last adventure that gave me the ability to earth ( few arguments with GM) still the fact both me and my familiar can sit on the roof greater invised popping off spells and moving with no way for them to find us the only time i dont use it is when facing other earth elementals and even then if i can get further than there tremorsense its AMAZING well worth it :)
