Earthsea to be animated

Well, I'm kinda so-so on anime (I have seen one that I really liked, Princess Mononoke, and a whole bunch that either made me go "huh?", such as Project A-Ko, or really didn't like, such as Fist of the North Star, Vampire Hunter D, Neighborhood Totoro, and Akira), but, as has already been said, it can't be any worse than the SciFi miniseries. In fact the makers would be hard pressed not to make it better than SciFi did -- that miniseries was as repugnant to the source material as the Merlin miniseries...

I love anime, but I gotta say...if I were trying to get someone to fall in love with anime like me, I would never show them the movies you just listed. ;) Half that list is old old old ...whew.

Anyways......a studio ghibli made translation of Wizard of Earthsea? I'm automatically on board. I trust that studio to do good work. Just be glad it didn't end up in the hands of Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell 1 & 2). It would look beautiful but it would make you fall asleep before Act 1 was over. :)
