Eberon : Action Point ?

DarkMaster

First Post
Just watching the wizard site and I read about a prestige class in the new Eberon world, and it is mentioning action point. What the hell is that? I don't like it when they come with new world that have rule that changes the game "engine". It is ok to add small variation but this one seems quite big as it relates to movement and action.

Anyone has a clue?

There are action points in d20 Modern. That'll give you a clue as to what they do.

Andy Collins (on his boards) mentioned that Eberron action points will operate slightly differently than d20 Modern action points. They will also be different than the action point system presented in Unearthed Arcana when it comes out. All three systems will be similar, but there will be differences.

Thanks,
but is it really needed, pisses me off because it becomes complicated to send world traveller from one place to the other, and they might decide to revised again the book and come out with 3.6 or whatever.

You can ignore Action Points if you like; they aren't essential to the setting, just remove a few feats and a prestige class.

Geoff.

Yep, that's an option. As for me, I think I'll give the action points a try when I get my Unearthed Arcana. Then I'll know for sure whether I like them or not. I suspect they will grow on me.

action points have been pretty cool everytime i have seen them used, it adds a feeling of heroism to the game ,moreso than is already there...nothing sucks more than dying to a mook bad guy,or nothing says hero more than pulling a win out of a one in a million shot...and action points make avoiding that death and pulling off the feat a little easier IMO

Is it really needed? Not necessarily, but if you do remove that mechanics, you're going to have to adjust the class features that requires AP to activate.

My suggestion is to try it first, before you take a pass on it.
