One of all around best illustrated WOTC products ever. Examples like this I find both enchanting and awe inspiring:

I *love* the art of Eberron--especially the full-page 'comic book action panels'.

My favorite pieces are Kev Walker's homages to Mike Mignola:

I think the comic book look sucks. The normal comic book contains page after page of illustation and can [sometimes] be forgiven for a lower quality of image. In a gaming book i would hope for a higher standard of quality.

These is some good art in the book, but the art quality of comic book panels do injustice to the efforts of others contained in the book. The action is good, but that does not excuse the lack of depth and shading in comparison to the other artists.

That's odd. There are a bunch of pictures in there that I havn't seen in the book.

I'm having a really hard time picking my favorite. :D Is it the halfling drummer, the Aernal city of the dead, the battle of warforged and undead, the skyship, the gorgeous art nouveau lighting rail.... I could go on.

I was kinda on the fence about if I was going to pick Eberron up or not, but that art gallery convinced me it's worth the price.

Plus, no Baxa! Bonus!

WotC always releases all the art commisioned for a book in the art galleries, even if they end up being cut (in the same vein, repeat artwork from old books usually is left out from art galleries), and from what I understand, they have cut a lot of material to get the book to size.

Why can't'they ever seem to use the concept art that they show us before the book is actually published?

Some of the coolest stuff I found was the pencil sketches of the different races/ regional characters that they first introduced us to in Dragon. That's a cool look for Eberron.

But instead of keeping the sketches of talents like Steven Prescott or Sam Wood, they just hand them over to other artists and basically say: "Here, do it exactly like this, only not as well..."

I would rather have one or two artists create a relatively complete style/look for a game than have ten or twenty other artists try and emulate the "design copy".
