Eberron Q: Shifter Barbarian

Galieo

First Post
I'm new to Eberron and not 100% conversant with its rules--I did not see anything that would prohibit the stacking of rage bonuses (i.e., class trait--barbarian) with shifting bonuses (i.e., race trait--shifter); I thought I would throw this out to the august panel of experts.

Did I miss something? Thanks.

Shouldn't be. What specific abilities?

This character is a bit hard to handle the math for, however.

Your character has all of the following states.

Normal

Fatigued

Raging

Shifting

Raging and Shifting

Shifting and Fatigued

In each state, your physical stats will be different, changing attack bonus, damage, AC, and other stats. It just seems like way too much to track.

It's already been said that they do stack but consider this.
Warforged barbarians don't get fatiged after raging. Just a little food for thought.
^_^

Try making him a Frenzied Berserker, too. Then you'd need stats for Rage, Shift, Frenzy, Shift & Rage, Shift & Frenzy, Rage & Frenzy, Fatigued, Fatigued & Shift, Exhausted, Exhausted & Shift. Oh, and I can't remember if you're allowed to Frenzy while Fatigued... if so, then tack on Fatigued & Frenzy, and Fatigued & Rage.

...yeah. A player in my group was planning on making a Shifter Barbarian/Frenzied Berserker/Druid/Martial Artist (a monk variant from a splatbook that gets an ability similar to Rage, called Surge, that stacks with Rage) in a gestalt campaign we were gonna start. Thank goodness it never got off the ground.

My thanks to everyone for confirming my conclusion, but especially for adding the additional thoughts.

As gnfnrf points out, this guy will be complicated in tracking his stats; though from my understanding of Eberron, it seems like barbarian is the logical (roleplaying) choice, but not so logical from an ease of play standard.

Again, thanks.
