Nightstone Inn

The lid of the chest is busted, so it will not latch, but it still closes and after gathering up the spilled treasure Fareon and Halruhk each take a side and start for the front door of the inn.

Stepping outside they see the cart just off to their right, with no one around it. Looking across the square they see the nobleman Darian moving quietly, his back to the wall of the building he is up against.

Pumpkin Patch

Darian moves as quickly as he can. As he reaches the north wall he notices the half-orc and halfling coming out of the inn, a large chest held between them.

Wilhelm is ready but waits as Darian moves to get into position.

Searinox and Buddy watch from the path.

OOC: Yeah at this Point Searinox would still be baffled about Devana's new form though he will jump in if It's needed. Would Searinox see Halruhk & Fareon leave the Inn?

"Hey, there's some of the gang up the road there." said Halruhk, pointing his substantial chin forward, "An' what's that over there? Those pum'kin heads goblins, or what?"

OOC: Darian could have dashed and dashed and dashed again as a bonus action so he could have gotten further around the building

Counting in his head, Wilhelm estimates the time Darian needs to move around the building, then steps forward. One hand on the tome in his backpack, the words to an ancient incantation rush into his consciousness and the young farmboy-turned-warlock recites the words like a wizened, jaded spellcaster. His volume and the intensity of the words increase rapidly, and in the pumpkin patch a dark skull-shaped mist converges above one of the goblins, chilling the area and drowning out most sounds except the arcane words.

Wilhelm points, and for an instance, both pumpkin and goblin seems dead and rotten away for centuries. The moment is gone the next second, as are the mist and cold.

OOC: Casting Cause Fear on one goblin. Interestingly, the target need not see Wilhelm, but it must make a DC13 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of Wilhelm while his concentration lasts (up to 1 hour).

"Eh? Gang? Goblins???" Fareon snapped his head back and forth.

Suddenly one of the goblins rips the pumpkin off its head and looks at Wilhelm for a moment. "Fetter Golp!!" it screams in goblin, as it turns to run away. It waves its arms in the air wildly and then runs for the far fence.

When Halruhk heard the distinctive cry of a goblin, he began to run toward the pumpkin field. "C'mon, we've been missin' out!"
