Effects of tariffs on game sales (e.g. US/Canada shipments) (No Politics!)

Canadian car part production could become much less competitive, pushing increased production inside the USA
Production requires time, capital investment, and hiring.

Chaos - like will they or won’t they tariffs - discourages capital investment and hiring until things are less unpredictable.

It’s not like finance, where all the investors can jump in or out of NVIDIA stock in minutes on a rumor they don’t understand.

Vancouverites seldom do! (I myself had no idea where Port Moody was until faced with opening my store there, being an East Van kid. Of course, that was over 30 years ago!)

Honestly, aside from the Skytrain, the biggest boon to my business (when it comes to getting people to come out to the suburbs) is the addition of all the good Craft Breweries! One of the guys that started either the first or second (I can't remember what order they opened in) brewery in Port Moody used to play D&D with me at my store (This is all a long time ago now. I can't even remember if that was 3.5 or 4e days).

But yeah, thanks for making the trip out!
Also, there’s Rocky Point Park (and the ice creams) and Spacca Napoli, for my money the best pizzeria in Metro Vancouver (which is saying something).

The tricky bit will be for folks with a crowdfunder which funded before the tariffs came in.
yep this, I have a few, a couple through Dwarven forge, all of their molds/production is in China, though their crowdfunded page has been mum about tariffs, hope I won't have to pay even more to get my stuff.

Oh well, the Spice must flow I suppose.

To approach this from a different angle, the word within the party (I am a long-serving campaign worker, manager, and PAC-server) is that as far as Canada is concerned, the tariff is a leverage chip, probably for greater border cooperation in terms of fentanyl and illegals.

I have also heard that it may be to help a prospective Conservative candidate when replacing Castro Jr comes around, although I don't know enough about Canadian politics to know if that is credible.

But nearly everything being done on the foreign stage right now is for dramatic effect and future deal-making.
To be honest this is even worse. Any rise in tariffs is inflationary by the nature of tariffs, if they are one and done but a business relying on imported products as an input will have to price assuming the worst or if available switch to a more expensive supplier that is less likely to be hit if one can be found.
