bards...

I've always thought bards were weak since 3.0. I've played one from 1st - 9th level. He was the least overall effective person in the group, and generally was only useful for flanking bonuses and reminding every single person every single round to actually include the +1 for inspire courage. I covered all the diplomatic relations and spent al my free time focusing on the roleplaying aspect to find my enjoyment.

But I do rather like the idea of having a +4 or 5 bonus to Inspire courage by like 10th level!

I also think bard/warblades with lots of white raven maneuvers are a very promising combination from Bo9S.

Yeah, +1 isn't all that hot in the grand scheme of things, but modern bards get +3 at 3rd level (+1 base, +1 Song of the Heart, and +1 Inspirational Boost), which is a major boost at that level. I think the maximum is like +7 or 8 towards the end of your career, which can easily decide a fight in your favor - that's +35% to hit!!

Yeah a Bard can get pretty nasty if he takes all the Inspire Courage boosting stuff. The lvl 9 Bard / lvl 2 Marshal in the campaign I'm playing in is at +9 to hit / +11 to damage.

Very few of the parties attacks miss now and with a wildshaping Druid and Monk each person get several attacks a round so they milk even more damage out of the bard.

Wow, that is brutal. Has the DM had trouble keeping up with challenging the party?
