Effects that can make an incorporeal undead corporeal?

Why trust her to do it? She sounds like an incompetent whiner.

She was constantly tortured, physically and emotionally, for a YEAR, and it's been less than four months since she escaped ICly. She's certainly not going to be very effective without any intervention.

1. Waste the ghost ... yourself. That should put her at ease.

2. If it doesn't, repeatedly cast remove fear on the NPC until she stops blubbering.

3. If #1 and #2 don't work, then dust her worthless hide and interrogate her corpse via soul shackles or speak with dead.

Problem solved ....

1) The point isn't just to get rid of the ghost--it's to have her exact enough personal revenge on him to 'even things out' for her, as it were. Killing him (and undoubtedly sending his soul to one of the lawful-evil planes to become incarnated as a lemure) will certainly help with that.

2) Psychoses =/= fear. And it's not 'blubbering'--frankly, she's close to being emotionally broken.

3) It's not knowledge that's wanted, but her herself, and her connections with the underworld (a certain particularly influential supercriminal especially, who definitely has the resources to detect any fakes we could pose, and would probably reject the current 'broken' her on principle right off).

It sounds like this is something that sukael and his fellow players have come up with, not a railroaded adventure. I get the impression that SHE doesn't have to kill him, but that the players think that if she kills him, she'll be a whole lot better.

Exactly.

I have to admit, I'm curious if there is a way to turn an incorporeal creature into a corporeal one, aside from Polymorph Any Object.

Polymorph any object might work, though I doubt we can get meaningful access to it...

It doesn't necessarily have to be made corporeal (or made to be treated as it), though that would be easiest... I'm thinking that make manifest + ghost touch net (to immobilize) + ghost touch arrows will work, at least...

More Information Needed

Okay, I really want to help. However, in order to do so, I need to know if your party is generally good, neutral, or evil. Your answer will help me hone down my responses.

It may stretch your resources, but heal does cure insanity you know.

If the mere satisfaction of revenge clears her head, then she's probably not truly crazy and remove fear would work (at least give it a try ... what do you have to lose?).

Neutral, hinging on evil--however, the characters all have their own moral codes, are generally at least somewhat ethical, and are less "OH LET'S KILL EVERYONE" YEAH than "hmm, this is our goal, what methods do we have to get to it?". (example: No. 2 in the Austin Powers movies. He's undeniably evil, but he sees no point in wold-conquering schemes if it's less trouble and more reliable just to run a giant corporation.)

Fight the Power

1. Kill the ghost yourself ... it's just easier that way.

2. Try calming her with remove fear.

3. If that doesn't work, spring for a heal to remove her insanity.

You know, if she's truly insane ... having her kill the ghost probably won't work anyways.
