D&D 5E Effects with 1 round duration

Hi all,

Can anybody point me in the right direction? I am sure I've read somewhere that effects that last for 1 round, start in the turn of the creature that make them, and end at the next creature's turn. So round would be "cyclic" instead of fixed. But I cannot find this piece of info in the corebook or DMG. Am I mistaken?

You're correct. The effect starts on that creatures turn and ends at the start of their next turn. I'm mobile otherwise I'd give you a reference number, but I just thought I'd reaffirm you.

Edit -
I don't have my books with me right now, but I want to say the verbiage in 5E usually gets pretty specific by saying a physical time (Duration - 6 seconds, 1 minute, etc.) or will say something along the lines of "until the end of their next turn" or "on their next turn", etc. So usually if you read whatever is causing the effect it will state pretty plainly how long it lasts.
