Egads, I'm gonna be a dad!

You guys crack me up.

FullTinCan - my wife is actually leaning towards Aiden. Not sure I'm completely sold on that one. We'll see. I wanted Derek, but my wife ended up deciding against it. She's real picky.

Magestrike, hadn't considered Xavier. Tristan was another one that we came up with I could probably live with.

Airwolf, thanks for the congrats, but your tagline is usually joyous enough for me. :)

Rav, if I named my kid Nigel, I think it would be worse torture than something like B'ill! He'd have to take a lot of martial arts!

Congratulations!
We had our son about 8 months ago and for myself, there is absolutely nothing better in the world. We named him Luke and he is currently sitting next to me slurping a bottle. Much to my wife’s chagrin, I take great pleasure in actually being able to say “Luke, I am your father” (I am aware Vader didn’t say “Luke”, just “No…I am your father.” so don't flame me.:))

Congratulations!!!

My wife & I had our first child on September 20th of this year.

Enjoy and all the best to and your wife.

On the name point I won't offer any advice as you will soon come to realise that once you are pregnant everyone feels obligated to give advice adnausium.

Seriously, congratulations.

Congratulations, die_kluge!

As for names, for boys I've always liked the more traditional ones, like David, Michael, Matthew, Timothy and Peter. I would advise you to stay away from anything too trendy, lest your child grow up to hate his name...and you, for giving it to him.;)

Well, you can add my name to the list of fathers-to-be. That's right, I got my wife pregnant. :)

We're pretty excited. Our due date is May 15th. I don't want to know what the sex is until delivery, I think it will make the moment that much more special. I'm not sure my wife will be able to maintain the self-control to keep from knowing though. We'll see.

But, I need a boy name. We decided (surprisingly easily) on Erin Nicole for a girl. We're struggling with boy names. I welcome your (normal) suggestions.

Congrats, Die_Kluge! My second daughter was born last night, and her name is ... ERIN. Great minds must think alike!

The birth happened so fast, there was no time for any pain-killing drugs... I'm guessing that's a DC 30 Fort Save!?! It's an unbelievable thing, my friend.

Take care, and all the best on your ride ... you will be amazed at the little changes in priority over the next months and the major shift in perspective that occurs moments after the baby is born. The universe almost makes an audible shift.

Congratulations, die_kluge and kengar.

Maybe do a little research on names and their meanings. Also, you may decide to do a little genealogical research and see if there is anyone in your families you wish to honor.

Wow, Congratulations yourself, Fiery James! Your daughter was born less than 24 hours ago, and already your posting on ENWorld! That's pretty ballsy, dude. :)

Congradualtions. Remember, Crothian works well for both boys and girls :D

Yes, but if you want to go more feminine, there's always Lela.

For a boy. . . Well, I knew a half-orc named Valgrath. Then again, Solaras is also good.

John, Brent, Leo, Jason, Mike, or Tyler. Hmmm, Brendon is fun. Or Lorne. I was actually talking about naming a boy Lorne earlier today.

Congrats,

We have 6 and 2 year old girls and they are great! It seems like they are easier to take care of than boys at their ages, but when they get older I will just have to show the young men the .38 and baseball bat! :D

Oh, come now. You're a gamer - the broadswords and battle axes hanging on the wall should make a much more lasting impression than a baseball bat! :)
