Eldritch Knight experiences?

Has anyone run a PC with the edlritch knight as a PrC yet? I'm getting ready to enter the class and it's base abilities look pretty standard but in a good way.

Havn't played one myself, but I will probably do so eventually.

It's a very well working PrC for sure with lots of potential. :)

As a Fighter/Wizard (which your character is), a single level of Spell Sword might also be worth a look, since you should qualify for that easily, too. ;)

I play in a 17th level group where my friend is currently one. He loves it, and has had no problems dealing with threats to our group as either a fighter or a mage. Not quite as good as a staright class, but he's still able to hold his own and then some.

Try it out, and let us know how it goes.

Very little experience yet - which is the one thing reallying holding back the "Secrets of the Eldritch Knighthood" companion volume to "Secrets of Theurgy". Just haven't had any time to really playtest the class as-is, let alone any variants I write up.

Well, part of the problem there is that there are already several alternatives like the spellsword and the new one in Complete Arcane whose origins are Suelise.

Something that went about granting more class skills, especially among stealth for example, while retaining some combat skills might be a good place to start though. "Eldrtich Assassin" or something....

I suppose we merely have to wait for WotC to get around to making all their "patch up the multiclass system holes" prestige classes. We recently got the monk/wizard in Complete Arcane. I'm sure the ranger/wizard isn't too far off. Perhaps in Complete Adventurer?

It's one of the things I like about Arcana Unearthed with the Mage Blade and the Swashbuckler, both of which remind me of core classes in Rolemaster.

I still want the Wiz/Sor. :p

IME, at 12th level it's a little underpowered, unless you allow Practiced Spellcaster. That feat reeeeaaaaally boosts EKnight and ATrixie.
