Well, I don't need a 100 pound Blowdryer for my hair, thank you very much. I prefer the natural flyaway look. I guess I'd need at least a comb to survive.

All a person needs to survive are food and water, and the proper attire for the environment.

Let's not forget some sort of medication, assuming you have some sort of condition, and the like.

Further, I could get by for quite a while on 85 pounds worth of extra batteries! (Carrying that much in generator pack means you aren't going very far anyway. That is too much for most people to carry comfortable or any distance, and you don't have tent, sleeping bag, water, food, armor, sword, shield, spellbooks... ooops.)
