Elemental Savant Question

I've got a character who is currently an Flame Elemental Savant, and I wanted to know about his class's level 10 ability: Is there a way to turn off burning, or do you deal a d6 of damage to everything you wear every round?

I'm going to get into trouble going from memory here, but I don't think so. I think at 10th level you become an Elemental, you get Elemental Immunties, traits, and you forgo your old form. So buy fireproof underwear, if you're too modest to let people see your Flamin' Moe.

I don't think the Burn ability would affect the character's equipment. A 10th level Fire Elemental Savant is not actually on fire.

Also, the Burn description only specifies damage accompanying slam attacks and in response to striking the elemental. A true fire elemental is composed of fire, so it would make sense that it would burn any equipment it wore, but the ability does not say anything about that.

Burn (Ex)

A fire elemental’s slam attack deals bludgeoning damage plus fire damage from the elemental’s flaming body. Those hit by a fire elemental’s slam attack also must succeed on a Reflex save or catch on fire. The flame burns for 1d4 rounds. The save DC varies with the elemental’s size (see table). A burning creature can take a move action to put out the flame. The save DC is Constitution-based.

Creatures hitting a fire elemental with natural weapons or unarmed attacks take fire damage as though hit by the elemental’s attack, and also catch on fire unless they succeed on a Reflex save.
