[ELH]Armor Enhancement Question

Does anyone know why the sudden jump in prices for Weapons? I mean it goes from 25,000 for a +5 to 360,000 for a +6. That is one hell of a jump. Are they just trying to drain the money away from high level adventurers or what? I am just wondering because I am quickly approaching 20th level and don't have anywhere near 360,000 gold yet.

Because it re-simulates the feel of 1st level through 20th level all over again. Seriously.

50,000 for a +5 weapon, 720,000 for a +6 weapon.

Are you 17th level or lower?

Silly me. I say Armor in the title, quote armor prices but say Weapons in the post. at self

My character is 17th level and only 2,500 XP away from 18th. The way we are playing that is only a session or two. So I could serisouly be seeing Epic levels within a few months of playing. I just spent 50k on getting a +5 weapon and the thought of it costing 670,000 for me to go up a mere +1 is scary. I had better up and get all the special abilities I want on it before Epic comes around.

Um.

Keep in mind, the jump in pricing for Epic arms and Armor is only triggered if any one SINGLE ability is +6 or more.

A +1 Vorpal Sword (marker price +6 total) costs the same, wether your'e epic or not.

A +6 Sword, otoh, costs 10x as much as that +1 vorpal sword -- the enhancement bonus is more than +5.

No, Epic weapons, etc, don't maintain their bonuses in Anti-Magic. Not even the Antimagic Armor does that.

Artifacts may be able, or if you're loony enough to let a spellcaster imbed Spell Seeds in weapons/armor then it will be 'safer'.

Ah okay. That I was not getting. Now that makes a little more sense.

Addendum to my prior post: Epic pricing also comes into play as soon as the market price factor totals +11 or more, even if no one component of the weapon or armor's abilities breaks the +6 mark. A +5 Keen Vorpal Greatsword (e.g. the blade wielded by Solars) is an Epic weapon, having a cumulative +11 market price factor.
