ELH/FRCS: Archmage Mastery of Elements Confusion

First Post
In the FRCS, it says when casting a spell the damage type can be changed.

In the ELH, it says when preparing a spell the damage type can be changed.

Did I miss some errata somewhere?

Personally, I think the ELH is incorrect and someone pulled a "fast editing" job. If the ELH version were true, sorcerers could not be archmages and take master of elements, but I'm pretty sure they can (Simbul for example).

Thoughts?

Yes, it's the only reason I took the one level of Archmage I have.

But as to the topic, I look at it this way. For Wizard's it's when preparing spells, for Sorcerer's it's when casting spells.

I don't know about the ELH but in the FRCS the Mastery of Elements is an on-the-fly, i.e. at casting, item (so is Mastery of Shaping for that matter).
