The Savage Progressions article is the first of six in the series, by the way. The others will cover fiendish template, half-fiend, ghost, lycanthropes, half-dragons, and lich.

Sean--

Any thoughts on how the vampire template might work in a Ghostwalk campaign? A Wiz 4/Eidoloncer3/Vam 4 is, if nothing else the start of an interesting character description . . .

I just wish WoTC could do more NPCs that weren't half-fiend vampire templated abominations - I was hoping for some 'regular' gnolls.:(

Well its much, much easier to create regular gnolls than it is to create half-fiend vampire templated abominations, so I can understand their desire to follow this particular avenue.

Because to make normal gnolls, you only need a Mr. Gnoll and a Mrs. Gnoll. Half-fiend vampire gnolls need a Mr. Gnoll and Miss Succubus-willing-to-"experiment"-with-furry, and then a vampire silly enough to drink the things blood.

Thanks

It would probably work the same way, though how to fit in eidoloncer levels is an interesting question.

No Half-Celestial? Or do I just do a mirror on the Half-Fiend?

I already wrote the half-celestial for Anger of Angels from Malhavoc Press, and it's Open content, and since WotC has a policy against putting Open content on their site, we couldn't port it over there. So you can either pick up AOA or just mirror the half-fiend (since mirroring the half-celestial is what I did to get the half-fiend, with a couple of tweaks, it shouldn't be too hard). Ditto for the celestial vs. fiendish templates.
