Elrond is half elf? lol

In the books its actually part of his title: Elrond half elven, lord of Rivendale.

He is son of Berien and Luthian. His brother sired the kings/race of Numinor -> who founded Gondor -> begat Aaragon.

Anyone remember his stats from MURP?
What did he actually do?
was control of the river his? Did he personally heal Frodo? Did he activily protect Rivendale from invasion by the forces of evil? what else did he do?
hmm - Raise Water, Forbidance, Heal /neutralize posion Yup, looks like a cleric to me.

Which puts him as the great-grandson of Luthien and Beren (through their son Dior then his daughter Elwing).

It's kind of silly to say that Elrond is a half-elf, period, when being a half-elf in Tolkien's Middle Earth does not mean you're a half-elf in the D&D sense, but rather that you must choose whether to be an elf or a human.

Cleric, yeah. Although he is famed as being mighty amoung both men and elves I wouldn't actually hand him divine ranks... But he is almost certainly an epic character.

Remember the Phial of Gladrial that is given to Frodo which contains the light of Earendil "Most beloved of the elves"? The light of that star actually comes from the Silmaril bound to the brow of Earendil the Mariner who alone of mortal blood sailed to the land of the Valar and was set to sail amoungst the stars to prevent him from returning to the lands of men. That star is Elrond's dad....

So yeah, epic kind of runs in the family.
