Elusive Target

Balord

First Post
Using the Elusive Target tactical feat from Complete Warrior, you are allowed a free trip attack from option 3 when your foe misses his/her attack of opportunity against you. Do you need a special 'tripping' weapon such as a flail to make this trip, or can you just stick your foot out or something as your foe misses you and overreaches?

AFAIK, you can trip with any weapon you have or with your foot. Some weapons give you a bonus to trip, like the Heavy Flail.

I don't believe so. After all, you're not actually actively tripping the target. At least, that's how I interpret Elusive Target: you cause an opponent to overextend itself while you jump out of the way, and this may make him fall flat on his face.

Alternatively, if you want to play it by the letter of the rules, you can always use your unarmed attack to trip an opponent.

Hi!

Wouldn't do so provoke an AoO normally, if your are "unarmed"?

Kind regards

Yes it would, but that would only matter if the opponent has Combat Reflexes, which just a small minority has.
