elven lifespans?

IMC, I use a simple formula for elves - after reaching physical maturity around age 50-70, elves appear to age as humans 1/10th their age. Thus, their teen and young adult years are LONG, but after that they reach a reasonable proprotion of aging. So, a 300 year old elf looks 30, etc. 1000 year old elves are about as common as 100 year old humans.

So what does that do for all those ancient prophesies and curses etc you know when the Humans are going

"it has been 3000 years since Sir Bob did battle with the Dark Scorcerer Dan"

and then the grey elf in the party pops up and says - "um excuse me but Dan was my uncle and he wasn't Dark, its you bloody humans that kept stealing his land that caused it all - god humans can be so damn annoying!"

Exactly!


Most mature elves alive have lived through most of recorded human history. Makes it very interesting.
