Eh. It costs an extra feat for an extra point of damage, on average. Not to mention, it costs more money and is rarer (fewer magical versions) than normal weapons.

I'd say it's a little underbalanced, if anything. It's certainly no Spiked Chain.
 

I'm considering giving elves familiarity with thin blade instead of free proficiency with longsword AND rapier. The bow feats stays the same.

Usually exotic weapons are martial weapons that have in addition:

A) One greater damage dice (Dwarven Waraxe vs. Battleaxe)

or

B) One greater threat range

or

C) One greater critical modifier

In this way you could either see thinblade as a scimitar with a bigger dice, or longsword with a greater threat range. It seems like a normal exotic weapon, as I don't see finesseability as anything worth noting (if it is finesseable).

Mercurial greatsword breaks two rules. It's basically a greatsword with damage dice a step larger and a critical modifier two steps larger. Greatly unbalanced. they should've just admitted to messing up fullblades and merc greatswords critical multipliers with each other.
