elven thin blade

Some people have used it before, it also requires exotic weapon feat if I remeber correctly.

yes, I believe its threat range is 19-20 x2

Ya, I did in the first 3ed campaign I ran. It doies take an extra feat to use being exotic and we found it a good addition.

I dont have it in front of me but 1d8 18-20 threat range would definately require an exotic weapon feat!

I am as sure as I can be without the mag in front of me....

...the elven thin blade is an exotic elven weapon that does 1d8 (18-20/x2) points of damage.

The "elven thinblade" was introduced in a Dragon magazine as an exotic weapon that deals out 1d8 damage with rapier-like crit range (18-20/x2). If you are concerned about game balance, apply the "mercurial greatsword test". If you think mercurial greatswords are balanced in your campaign, elven thinblades are probably okay too. They have about the same level of rules balance.
