Are Elven thinblades improved rapiers or improved longswords? I'm using the weapon group variant from UA. Should they be in the exotic light blades or exotic heavy category?

Dark Jezter said:A little of both, actually. They deal 1d8 damage and have a threat range of 18-20, and they can be used with the Weapon Finesse feat (although they are exotic weapons).
I was talking less about the mechanics and more about the weapon in the world-whether it came about from elves modifying the longsword or the rapier.

Elven Smith Two: Yeah, well you got your rapier all over my longsword!
Announcer: ...Now you're both right!
