With an understanding of the basics of what makes elves physically different from us we can know examine the culture of the Elves of Telzoa. Elves from other parts of the World of Carthasana, like humans from other sections, may be radically different from what is outlined here.
The elves of Telzoa call themselves the silvani. They have been upon the island since well before the rise of the human kingdoms of the south and, if they are to be believed, they were the true first ones upon the island. Most of the Silvani today live on the island of Isaldia to the west of the main Telzoan island, though somewhat isolated family bands live within the forests of eastern Telzoa where they come into contact with humans infrequently.
The largest of these family groups is the Kasidria clan, which controls what humans call the Olde East Wood. This clan has around 1,200 members scattered throughout the forests they themselves call the coaskasette. Most elven player characters are probably members of the Kasidria or related clans.
Note that the term clan has different meanings for elves than humans and this will be discussed later in this chapter. Not all members of a clan are necessarily related, though many are.
