[Emerald Press] Wilderness Master Cover Preview

Warden

First Post
Snow melts. Buds grow. Grass rises. Rangers stalk. Monsters fear.

As the finishing touches are put towards our latest release, Campaign Options: Wilderness Master, written by Gryphon of Community 3E, we have released a cover preview feature the beautiful artwork by up-and-coming artist, Oliver Diaz. Wilderness Master is due for release in May 2004.

Sweet! I think he's got some work elsewhere on EnWorld, Librarian. There's gotta be samples somewhere...unless he lives next door to Emerald and just dropped off a portfolio on a whim!

I like this kind of sublety in RPG art. It's not real because of the decked out dude or the scantily clad woman...it's real cause they're holding hands. Those subtleties we miss in roleplaying, or overdo them, and I think this looks just right...there's adventure to be had, maybe danger just down the hill, but there's a moment to spare midst all the mess. The bird cements it. A ranger is never alone, even if they may feel like it...

I'm a lousy art critic. I should just say I like it. Which I do. Hope there's more on the inside when this one comes out!

Cheers!

Looks really sharp, I'm looking forward to seeing more of the artwork when the previews are made available. I especially like the lighting. It really adds to the atmosphere of the painting.
