Empire of the Petal Throne PbP: Tome of Wonderous Deeds (Rules and OOC)

Still room for one more?

I'm looking at either a human or Pe Choi, highly aristocratic, taking only the Expert class and focusing on social skills; if Pe Choi, I'd probably also take the Spell feat a number of times.

Sure we have room for another. A Pe Choi would be fine!

One question: would it be possible for me to take the Wealthy feat, from Arcana Unearthed (not Unearthed Arcana)? The text is as follows:

Wealth (Talent)
You come from a wealthy family.
Prerequisite: Character level 1st only.
Benefit: The character starts with double the maximum starting gold-400 gp. Further, at one time during her career, at a time agreed upon by the player and the DM (recommended time is between 5th and 10th level), the character receives an inheritance of 1,000 gp times her current character level.

These numbers should require little adjustment; if 100 is "average", then "maximum" (if we were rolling) would be about 200. Ideally, if this is allowable, I'd also like to be able to use my great wealth to purchase steel items.

Ahh, I thought you meant the core classes plus the Generic classes. My bad :o .

I don't have Unearthed Arcana so it would probably be better if you made the character. The idea is pretty simple, A melee warrior with a few spells to help out. The spells would mostly be for healing.

The Generic Classes: (almost everything)

When choosing a class you may choose which saves are good and which are poor. The # of good/poor saves is stated by the class. You may also choose your class skills. All classes get bonus feats, you may choose some class features of the standard classes as bonus feats.

Expert: d6; medium base attack; two good saves, one poor save; class skills: any twelve plus Craft and Profession; skill points: 6+Int mod; All simple weapons, one martial weapon, light armor; bonus feats:Lvl 1,2,4,8,12,16,20

Spellcaster: d4; poor base attack; one good save, two poor saves; class skills: any four plus Craft, Knowledge (all), and Profession; skill points: 2+Int mod; One simple weapon, no armor; bonus feats:Lvl 1,5,10,15,20; spellcasting as Sorcerer, fewer spells per day, select spells from cleric, druid, and sor/wiz lists; choose if you are arcane or divine spellcaster - arcane uses Int or Cha, divine uses Wis; you may multiclass between arcane spellcaster and divine spellcaster

Warrior: d10, good base attack; one good save, two poor saves; class skills: any six plus Craft; skill points: 2+Int mod; All simple and martial weapons, light and medium armor, shields (not tower shield); bonus feats:Lvl 1,2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20

The DM probably shouldn't apply multiclassing penalties.

From the UA preview thread. Triilobite, could you post the feats from the book granting class abilities. Thanks.

No Multi-classing penalites!

Intelligence is used as the main stat for the spell caster. Priests can pick from the wizard/sorcerer and cleric spell lists. Shaman can pick from wizard/sorcerer and druid spell lists.

Bonus feats from UA
Evasion (prereq. Reflex save +3)
Improved Evasion ( prereq. reflex +7, evasion)
Familiar (spell caster...shaman only)
Favored Enemy (like ranger)
Sneak Attack (+2d6, prereq. hide and move silent +4)
Improved Sneak Attack (add +3d6 prereq. hide and move silent +11)
Greater S. A. ( add +4d6 preqreq. hide and move silent +18)
Turn Undead
Trap Sense (prereq. search +4)
Smite Change or Smite Stability
Wild Empathy (per druid, prereq. handle animal +4)
Uncanny Dodge ( combines barbarian uncanny and improved uncanny dodge)

These my be picked using your bonus feats per your class.
I added several additional ones above.

That sounds perfectly fine to me. And the 400 g.p. (kaitar) amount to start is fine with me.

What martial weapons are common among the Pe Choi? And am I allowed to purchase them in steel?

Pe Choi use the same types of weapons as humans which is varied.

Let me think about the steel weapons. I might have to refigure costs. Give me a little bit to think about it. But if you can afford it you can buy steel weapons though I doubt you will be able to. :)

A quick note for everyone. Remember you get your normal starting feat at first level, your bonus feat if your human, and your bonus feat for class. So if you are human that means you will start with 3 feats.

After thinking over steel weapons, I have come up with the following:

Ordinary Steel: Armor has a +2 AC Bonus, Weapons have a +1 to hit and damage, cost is x400 normal.

Excellent Steel: Armor has +4 AC bonus, Weapons have +2 hit and damage, cost x1000 normal.

Arcane Spell Failure is +10% with steel armor.

trilobite did you see this? Just thought I'd ask since I originally posted it 4 minutes before you made several posts.
