Hello, I also am a EN World Addict.
I mostly lurk but I am here 5-6 hours a day.
I wonder who has been here the longest with the least amount of posts? I am sure I would be in the running

Nope I've been around since Eric's original site. Despite the fact I have to keep changing my name due to the database eating my account my total posts are well below 30. I just don't have that much to say normally. Not to mention I'm usually to busy with work or children. Though I think I may be getting my wife hooked.

it is safe to assume that since I keep diligently re-making an account when the old errors that I am an addict despite my lack of posts.

I've been trying to fight this addiction, with varying degrees of success, for over 2 years now.

I'm afraid it will never stop.

Just when I think there's not much new or interesting, some flare up of creativity in the In-Character Forum will catch my attention.
Or the thrice-damned Game of Death will claim my posting energies once more, until I get more invloved than others to the point of disruption, then I pull back and am satiated, then I'll get drawn into the mire again eventually.

Please, make it stop!

At least I've learned to stop joining IC games - pretty easy lesson to learn when there's SO MUCH activity going on there now - it's amazing, and an addict's wet dream / Nightmare.

Hello, I am Hand and I am addicted.

It all started a number of years ago, I heard of this ‘big announcement’ at GenCon, it grabbed my attention and I had a free slot, so I went. Oh, they made it sound so wonderful and they gave out freebies. I was hooked; it was that fast, snakebite!

I had to find out more, had to be on the cutting edge. Found myself asking, “what was the status?” “what is going on with it?” Oh, I tried the ‘official stuff’ but it did not give me the same rush or satisfy my craving.

I then found the unofficial stuff; the place you hear about in the chat rooms and forums, that has it all and that it had the good stuff. I was there! Everyday, in the morning, the afternoon, the evening, satisfying my addiction, even pushing information, rumors, site updates, you name it I did it. Eric was my pusher, but he was addicted as I.

Then I hit bottom, the unofficial stuff was closing down but a new pusher was on the horizon, Morrus! Oh, he is a smart one, a seamless move, a name change, and it was done. It was like a spy movie, a clandestine switch.

Oh, I tried to stop, at least cut back but I keep coming back.

Actually I suffer from insomnia and am haunted by the emptiness of my life. I find an outlet by pretending to be a sufferer at support groups for EN World addicts.

Really, I’m not addicted! Just because I’ve been here since the first days of Eric’s site, (lurked, but didn’t want to post till a few days ago), dream about D&D and have EN World as my homepage...
