I think folks like me who occasionally pop over to RPGNow to pick up a title or two due to buzz created here are likely to stick around here. There is a lot of untapped market out there and this seems like a great way to get to some of it.

There seems to be an underlying current of hostility toward ENWorld for doing this and I just do not understand it. I know why RPGNow and other vendors might be less than thrilled. I know why publishers might grouse at another start-up fee. But this seems like a winning proposition for consumers and your average ENWorlders.

If it means less last second fund drives and less frustration for Morrus - I think it's a great idea!

So, the question that I ask myself, why bother switching? So far E. N. has nothing that stands out aside from annoying me with the now defunct minimum order. This may change, but has not as yet. There is nothing to balance that first bad impression.

Okay, so for you, would it be safe to say that the support for the site is not a meaningful factor in choosing where to buy? And making a mistake has more impact on your opinions than fixing said mistake?

Although I like the portability of PDF's, I believe my money should go to a good FLGS.

Electronic has its advantages, but a brick-n-mortar place is much more essential to keep role-playing thriving.

What about the smaller companies who cannot afford to release in 'brick-n-mortar' shops, only via the 'net or other electronic means?

(Yes, I'm one of those people)

Then unfortunately for you, you would probably never receive any money from me.

That's not to say that what you have to sell is not something worth buying. But for many reasons listed by others in this thread, your product would never even be seen by me.

Plus for reasons that have nothing to do with electronic vs. paper, you're fighting an uphill battle for my money.

I don't think hostility is what I feel. Concern, certainly. I'm not convinced that having sales intertwined with news is a recipe for impartial and unbiased reporting;

Nothing new there. There's been a store here for years (http://enworld.rpgshop.com).

history tells us it's far more likely that the news will become a club for sales -- "sell in our shop, or your new releases don't make the front page".

Hasn't happened with the old shop.

Yeah, that's the plan. Will take a few days to a week to get the code in place, though.
