EN World GameStore - How's the interface?

Twin Rose

First Post
Hello everyone,
I'm writing to ask you all what you think of the new EN World GameStore, and the interface involved with it. Is everyone able to find everything okay? Is there areas in need of improvement? What features and abilities would you (the customer AND the publisher) like to see that will help make it better? Is the cart, bookshelf, and other features self-explanatory enough, easy to find?

Is something behaving differently than you expect? How?

Thanks everyone for your support of EN World!

As someone who just signed up as a publisher, I'm afraid that I'm finding the new product upload process something of a nightmare. It took me close to two hours to get my first product up, largely because I kept finding stuff that needed to be included that seemed to pop out of no-where. There's a lot of things that are necessary and a lot that are essential, but they aren't orgnised in a way that makes it easy to see which is which.

It is getting better now that I've gone through once or twice, but I was cursing my computer fairly consistently while I tried to get Out of the Deep up and running.

When your activation was sent, did you also get access to the publisher forum? If not, I'll be sure and manually give you that access. There you'll find some guides and tutorials on doing these very things. I'm always happy to help people get their products up, as well. It's true, the first one does seem to take a little time, but I think you'll find after the first couple, it's a breeze.

Same for me first time, arwink. However, now it takes me about 4 minutes or so to do it. Once you get your "routine" you'll find it's a lot easier than it first appears, especially when you've done a couple so you know what's coming.

I uploaded 14 Goodman Games products in under half an hour the other night. It really does get easier, I promise!

Looks good from a consumer point of view!

I have a question as an aspiring publisher, however. I was preparing a batch of small PDFs, which would be perfect as PnM products, to sell on my own site. I know if they use the PnM logo that I cannot do that, which is no problem.

My questions are: can one become a PnM merchant only? Also, on the publisher info page, there is a big box with 20% royalty rate for a $99 fee; does this mean the publisher gets 20% royalties if they first pay $99 to En World? I don't think that sounds right, but am just a little confused.

Right, thought that might have been the case :)

So is the $99 fee compulsary, or is there a lesser royalty rate for smaller fees?

And can anyone (as long as they follow the style guide) become a publisher, or do you have to be already established? To be honest, I have 20-odd PDFs I'm working on, all of which are in line with PnM rules, and am just looking at selling PnM exclusively instead of doing it on my own site.

Sorry for all the questions BTW. Trying to get my head around all of this at the moment just to see whether it's worth doing these PDFs as PnM.

That's OK!

No, there's just the single fee/royalty rate. We're trying to keep it simple.

Anyone can become a P&M publisher. There is an application process which involves letting me see a sample P&M just so I know you're doing it right (and if you're not, I can help you get it right). After than, you're free to use the P&M system to your heart's content.

Got it. I was actually hoping for a lesser fee/rate structure, but I can see why you would do it that way. Selling .49c PDFs for a $99 outlay though may not be worth it in the end, you'd have to sell over 250 of them just to make it up by my calculations! Will have to think about it a bit more.

Yeah, I think it would take a while to make your money back. You would sell more than 250 eventually (and if you churn them out, even quicker), but it might not be worth the time and effort to you.
